IBD Poll: McCain Tied With Obama

Posted by smoothstone

The latest IBD/TIPP poll has been released today – and it has John McCain statistically tied with Barack Obama!  And Neal Cavuto has just reported that the PEW poll has McCain ahead by 1% among likely voters!

This comes on the heels of yesterday’s Zogby one-day tracking poll which had McCain ahead of Obama by 1%.

This race is extraordinarily close, with a large number of undecided voters that will likely break for McCain.  Help us make a strong final push with our last advertising blitz through Tuesday.

There are no more tomorrows – we must act now.  We’re trying to raise $150,000 for this final push on the TV airwaves.  Please make a contribution of anywhere from $5 to $5,000 for our final ad blitz to defeat Barack Obama.  You can donate online – HERE

Correcting the mythology that McCain donated money to Palestinians

Posted by smoothstone

The mythology that is being spread by Obamabots is that McCain shares the same degenerate moral equivalency as Obama when it comes to palestinian associations and relationships.  Obama has fully stated that he is friends with Rashid Khalidi.  You can read the background and corroborated account here and Obama’s description of his close friendship with Rashid Khalidi 42 seconds into the video linked here.

In full Democrat revenge-mode, Obamabots allege that McCain donated money to Rashid Khalidi.  This is NOT true.

Here are the facts:

The International Republican Institute did donate to the Center for Palestinian Research and Studies after it started up back in 1993. McCain was on the board of directors of IRI when they made that donation to CPRS to conduct opinion polls with Palestinian Arabs.  Here is the link to the International Republican Institute’s site.  Their statement is re-published below:

http://www.iri.org/newsreleases/2008-10-29-IRI.asp

IRI Statement Regarding Work with Palestinians

For Immediate Release
October 29, 2008

Washington, DC – “Questions have arisen regarding the International Republican Institute’s (IRI) work with Palestinians in the 1990s.

“In the 1990s, IRI gave grants to the Center for Palestinian Research and Studies (CPRS) for polling in the West Bank/Gaza. The polls measured support for the peace process, for various Palestinian political groups, and for efforts to enhance governance in the West Bank/Gaza. At that time no other organization could credibly conduct polling in the West Bank/Gaza.

“We understand that Rashid Khalidi was one of the many founders of CPRS, and we understand that he was for some (unclear) amount of time a board member. IRI did not in the 1990s conduct background checks of grantees’ founders or board members. IRI did on a number of occasions vet CPRS as an organization, including, as was our custom, with the Israeli government, and we were given no cause for concern.

“We do not recall any contact between Mr. Khalidi and IRI, and there is no evidence that Mr. Khalidi benefited in any way from IRI’s grants.

“Other organizations that reportedly gave funding to CPRS include the National Endowment for Democracy, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Center for International Private Enterprise, the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations, the Japanese Embassy, and Germany’s Friedrich Naumann Stiftung.

“IRI’s relationship with CPRS ended in 2000, and we understand that it no longer exists.”

Furthermore, the IRI says in the above statement that they understand Rashid Khalidi was one of the founders of CPRS. But a check of the CPRS site doesn’t show his name as a member. It does show an Ahmad Khalidi though. And further checking indicated that they are not the same person. Rashid Khalidi is an American born son of Palestinian parents who graduated from Yale University. Ahmad Khalidi graduated from Cairo University in 1967 according to the CPRS website.

More on the confusion between Ahmad Khalidi and Rashid Khalidi here.

Do research people.  The media is deficient in its responsibilities to report the FACTS so it is up to YOU and BLOGGERS to get the FACTS OUT THERE.

Pro-McCain/Palin Rallies Tomorrow in Michigan

Posted by smoothstone

PRO-McCAIN/PALIN RALLIES COME TO SAGINAW, GRAND BLANC, BATTLE CREEK & HILLSDALE TODAY & TOMORROW!

It is my pleasure to let you know that the Our Country Deserves Better Committee’s national “Stop Obama Tour” has changed our schedule and come back to Michigan as internal polls show us starting to gain ground for the McCain/Palin presidential ticket.

We will be conducting rallies today – Monday – in Saginaw (12:00 Noon), Grand Blanc (2:30pm) and Battle Creek (5:30pm). On Tuesday we will hold a 10:00am rally in Hillsdale. Locations for the pro-McCain/Palin rallies are listed at the bottom of this message.

Please – we urge you to come join us for one of these events. If you simply live too far away to make it, then pass on word to anyone you know who lives anywhere close to these locations. We want to build great crowds, as we are inviting the media to cover these events.

The photograph above was from our great Brighton, Michigan rally that took place on Saturday. This picture below is from our Grand Rapids rally:

By the time we complete our Hillsdale rally, we’ll have conducted 14 rallies across the Upper and Lower peninsulas, in conjunction with our television ad campaign that we are running throughout the state to defeat Obama. We have a motto we’ve shared with Michigan residents: we’ll keep fighting to turn this state back into the McCain/Palin column if you’ll keep fighting. With Obama having taken most of his money and staff out of the state, we have the chance to wage an aggressive campaign over the next 8 days and WIN MICHIGAN ON NOV. 4th!

Here’s one more picture for inspiration – and then the schedule of our 4 upcoming rallies follow. Again, please do what you can to either make it to one of these events, and help us build crowds by calling talk radio shows and letting them know what is going on. Alert the media, so we can be sure we pressure them into covering our pro-McCain/Palin push. Now, here’s a picture from our weekend rally in Lansing at the State Capitol:

Pro-Sarah Palin Ad Going National

Posted by smoothstone

BREAKING NEWS:  Obama To Be Countered on NATIONAL TV Airwaves

You’ve heard the news reports that Senator Barack Obama has purchased 30 minutes of airtime on the major television networks.  He’s also rented out a cable news channel that runs his political propaganda 24-hours a day.

But now those supporting the McCain/Palin ticket are fighting back!

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee is pleased to announce that we’ve begun to purchase airtime on national cable television networks, and if we can raise enough funding we will expand our advertising to the major broadcast networks.  We can no longer limit our television advertising to the key battleground states, we’ve got to get our message out to combat Barack Obama’s as much as possible.

We will debut our national advertising with our TV ad, “Sarah is a Fighter” which you can watch here:

WATCH: “SARAH’S A FIGHTER” – HERE

Please help us purchase as much airtime for this effort as possible!  You can contribute from as little as $5 to as much as $5,000.  National TV airtime is quite expensive as you can imagine, so we need as much support as we can get – CONTRIBUTE ONLINE HERE.

You can also forward this update on to your friends – HELP SPREAD THE WORD.

Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf Endorses John McCain

Posted by smoothstone

John McCain has earned the endorsement of Gulf War commander Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf.

Schwarzkopf, who with McCain in 2004 was openly critical of then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld over his handling of the Iraq war, said in a statement the Arizona senator “has served our country with honor in war and in peace.”

“He has demonstrated the type of courageous leadership our country sorely needs at this time. For that reason, he has my complete support,” he said.

McCain is in a tight race for the Republican presidential nomination, but most polls show him leading the pack following his wins in New Hampshire and South Carolina. He and his rivals are in Florida Wednesday ahead of the state’s primary on Tuesday.

It is not clear whether Schwarzkopf will campaign with McCain, as former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has done.

McCain thanked Schwarzkopf in a statement, saying, “General Norman Schwarzkopf’s distinguished lifetime of service and uncommon devotion to our nation has earned him the respect and admiration of the American people. I am honored by his support.”

McCain Needs Our Help to Counter Obama Ad Spending

Posted by smoothstone

The McCain/Palin campaign needs our help, friends, and they need our help IMMEDIATELY.

The New York Times and other media outlets are reporting on the $150 million Barack Obama raised in September (on top of the $66 million he raised in August), and how he used that money to flood the airwaves in key battleground states over the past month to run up his poll numbers.

Obama “swamped” McCain in ad spending by a 4-to-1 margin, and in some states the margin over McCain was even higher.

Obama, the Democratic candidate, is now running at least four times as much advertising nationwide as his Republican rival, John McCain, according to CMAG, a service that monitors political advertising. That difference is even larger in several closely contested states.

While Obama’s decision to forgo the matching funds – and the limits that come with them – has given him a spending advantage throughout the election, his television dominance has become most apparent in the past few weeks as he has gone on a buying binge that has allowed him to utterly swamp McCain’s campaign with concurrent lines of positive and negative messages.

Since McCain is limited under public financing laws as to how much he can raise and spend – whereas Obama can raise and spend unlimited funds since he went without matching funds – it is critically important for groups like the Our Country Deserves Better Committee to step in to help bring a balance to the TV ad wars.

This is why we must continue to ask our supporters to make donations to our TV ad fund. Over 150,000 people will receive this email you are reading right now. Imagine the impact we can make if all of us make a contribution to our anti-Obama/pro-McCain/Palin ad campaign.

The maximum allowed contribution to a federal PAC such as ours is $5,000. If you can afford such a contribution, please lend your support to our cause now — DONATE HERE.

Many of us can only afford to contribute lesser amounts of $1,000 or $500 or $250 or $100 or even $50 or $25. Even donations of $10 and $5 make a strong impact when they come from tens of thousands of Americans.

So please, help us overcome Obama’s campaign funding advantage over McCain by allowing us to go up on the airwaves in key swing states with our strong and aggressive TV ads. Make a contribution online right now, and ask your friends or family members to also make a contribution to double or triple the impact you make in this election.

As always, you can see the TV ads your donations are funding – HERE.

Beautiful Pro-McCain/Palin Video by Lloyd Marcus

Posted by smoothstone

From Our Country Deserves Better:

You’ve got to see this inspirational, and uplifting (maybe even a bit of a tear-jerker) video from a pro-McCain/Palin rally that took place this weekend in Albuquerque, NM as part of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee’s national “Stop Obama Tour.” The “Stop Obama Tour” is continuing across the country, rallying support for the McCain/Palin ticket in the critical days leading up to the Nov. 4th election.

In the video you’ll see Lloyd Marcus singing “Sarah Smile” (tribute video to Gov. Sarah Palin) and then joining with a member of the crowd to sing God Bless America.

This will warm your heart, and just might bring a knot to your throat:

Sarah Palin KOs Joseph Biden

Posted by smoothstone

Sarah Palin more than holds her own. From John Lillpop:

Proving beyond any shadow of a doubt that she is the most qualified candidate for the presidency, including Messrs. McCain and Obama, VP nominee Governor Sarah Palin scored an impressive victory over her weak opponent in the debate held Thursday evening.

Despite being handicapped by Gwen Ifill, an Obama operative and biased liberal from PBS, Governor Palin demonstrated in-depth understanding and mastery of a wide range of topics from national security to economic priorities, and in doing so established her superior qualifications.

Governor Palin’s performance was a moral victory for all women and proves that women are qualified to serve in the very highest capacities of government, despite the dismal showing of Nancy Pelosi in the U.S. House.

In fact, some observers opined that Governor Palin’s experience and understanding of the vital issues are far more comprehensive and cogent than those expressed by Barack Obama himself.
