The creation of Israel did not involve the destruction of a Palestinian state, there having been no such state. Via Washington Post :
* In the intifada that began in 2000, Palestinian terrorism killed more than 1,000 Israelis. As a portion of U.S. population, that would be 42,000, approaching the toll of America’s eight years in Vietnam. During the onslaught, Israeli parents sending two children to school would put them on separate buses to decrease the chance that neither would return for dinner. Surely most Americans can imagine, even if their tone-deaf leaders cannot, how grating it is when those leaders lecture Israel on the need to take “risks for peace.”
* There was a time when taking risks for peace meant swapping “land for peace” – Israel sacrificing something tangible and irrecoverable, strategic depth, in exchange for something intangible and perishable, promises of diplomatic normality.
* Before the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel within the borders established by the 1949 armistice was in one place just nine miles wide, a fact that moved George W. Bush to say: In Texas we have driveways that long. Israel exchanged a lot of land to achieve a chilly peace with Egypt, yielding the Sinai, which is almost three times larger than Israel and was 89% of the land captured in the process of repelling the 1967 aggression.
* Israelis are famously fractious, but the intifada produced among them a consensus that the most any government of theirs could offer without forfeiting domestic support is less than any Palestinian interlocutor would demand. Furthermore, the intifada was part of a pattern. As in 1936 and 1947, talk about partition prompted Arab violence.
* The creation of Israel did not involve the destruction of a Palestinian state, there having been no such state. In the 62 years since Israel was founded on one-sixth of 1% of the land of what is carelessly and inaccurately called “the Arab world,” Israelis have never known an hour of real peace. Patronizing American lectures on the reality of risks and the desirableness of peace, which once were merely fatuous, are now obscene.

An incident provoked by genocide-minded jihadists gains traction among those anxious to demonize Israel and see those jihadists as victims. “Mideast: Flotilla; Israel’s Crimes Could Lead To War, Syria,” from ANSAmed, May 31 (thanks to Insubria):(ANSAmed) – BEIRUT, MAY 31 – In its first official statement on the Israeli attack on the humanitarian flotilla headed for Gaza, Syria called the operation a “barbaric” move. Quoted by Lebanese press agency Nna, President Bashar al Assad and Lebanese Premier Saad Hariri harshly condemned the “crime committed by Israel with this barbaric attack on defenceless civilians”. The joint statement quoted by Nna continues that Syria and Lebanon “invite the international community to take measures as soon as possible to end Israel’s crimes, which could lead to war in the Middle East with repercussions far beyond the regional borders”.(ANSAmed).

Yes, Israel’s a Democracy
Via LATimes:
The Jewish state of Israel is a diverse nation that has absorbed people from more than 140 countries. Among its population are about 1.5 million Arabs, including Israeli Knesset member Ahmad Tibi, who in a May 23 Times interview lashed out at Israel, using inflammatory words like “racist” and “fascist.” As is his style, Tibi failed to back up his white-hot rhetoric with hard facts. In 1947, Arab leaders rejected a UN resolution to form an Arab state alongside a Jewish one. This caused the displacement of some 600,000 Palestinian refugees. From that point forward, Arab nations have denied these Palestinians and their descendants citizenship and basic civil rights, including the right to own property, get an education or take out loans – rights held by Israeli Arabs.
Arab Israelis, who make up about 20% of the nation’s population, enjoy equal rights, government representation and protection in Israel. They live freely in all parts of Israel, can use all public facilities, attend Israel’s top universities and are contributing members of society. By no means is Israel the epitome of perfection, but we do aspire for equality for all our citizens. According to the Abraham Fund Initiative, since Israel’s establishment in 1948, the number of schools in the Arab Israeli school system increased by more than fifteenfold; Hebrew schools grew by only five times. The number of classes offered in the Arab Israeli system increased more than seventeenfold, and since 1961 the literacy rate of Arab Israelis jumped from 49.6% to 90%, a clear indication of the educational opportunities offered to all our citizens.
Arabic is an official language in Israel (alongside Hebrew). Arab Israelis are citizens with full voting rights and can serve as elected members of the Knesset, as lawmaker Tibi does. Tibi served as Yasser Arafat’s adviser on Israeli affairs while simultaneously serving as a member of the Knesset. Tibi knows that no Arab country would afford him the freedoms that the Jewish state does.

Who is Zbigniew Brzezinski?
To Zbigniew Brzezinski, a Polish-born American politician who served as United States National Security Advisor to the detestable Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981, Israel is a fly on one’s windshield.
Brzezinski “believes that the Jewish lobby forces America into pro-Israel policy, and he defends Carter’s anti-Semitic book, “Peace, Not Apartheid.”
Now Brzezinski has stated that the United States should shoot down Israeli jets if Israel chooses to take military action against a nuclear project in Iran.
According to WND, Brzezinski said:
The U.S. has to be “serious” about denying Israel the right to attack.
That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not.
No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.
The USS Liberty was a U.S. ship in international waters in the Middle East during the Six-Day War in 1967 that was hit by Israeli gunfire – in error.
It’s a typical dirty trick for the manipulative Jew-hating bastard to inject the tragic circumstance of the USS Liberty into a discussion about a sovereign nation defending itself, as if the event of the USS Liberty is in any way morally equivalent to the intentions of the Iranian Muslim monkey Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who denies the Holocaust, has called Israel a ‘stinking corpse’ and vows to wipe it off the map.
We already know that Obama has a Jewish problem and just before the 2008 election where America voted in the worst president since Jimmy Carter, Obama added Brzezinski to his list of “advisers.”
Israel is a legitimate and sovereign nation, voted imprimatur by the United Nations.
No one would dare question the right to exist of Libya, Saudi Arabia or Syria. That Zbigniew Brzezinski, a Jew-hating puke vessel would question the right of Israel to defend herself against barbarians who want a one-religion shari’a worldwide, is just a symptom of his inability to “advise” foreign policy.
Coincidentally, according to the Centre for Research on Globalisation, after the September 11, 2001 attacks, and in addition to Brzezinski’s other screw-ups, he played a role in the formation of the Afghan mujaheddin network, some of which later formed the Taliban and al Qaeda. He states in the interview cited in the link above, that blame ought to be laid at the feet of the Soviet Union’s invasion which radicalized the relatively stable Muslim society. Brzezinski is also accused of having “knowingly increased the probability that they (the Soviet Union) would invade” by supporting Afghan rebels before the invasion and drawing the Soviets into an “Afghan trap”.
On another note, Zbigniew Brzezinski’s daughter, Mika Brzezinski, co-hosts a two-hour morning radio show on WABC in New York City with Joe Scarborough. This explains her left-wing skewed politics and inarticulate arguments, which make the radio show almost unbearable to listen to.

For Jew-haters and Israel bashers, boycotting films is an easy choice, considering how stupid and brain-washed the Canadian terrorist-apologizing palestiniasts are. h/t DailyAlert via National Post:
The usual suspects are deploring the Toronto Film Festival’s spotlight on Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv can indeed be highlighted as a beautiful city by the ocean, founded near Jaffa a century ago by idealists who dreamed of Jews being accepted as just another nation among nations. Secular and diverse, Tel Aviv is a success story.
Ironically, Israel is the only state in the Middle East where films are made freely and without censorship of any sort. Its film industry benefits Israelis of all racial and religious backgrounds. It is the only country in the region where a film festival like the Toronto Film Festival could be held.

Canadian Jew-haters assemble in Toronto, hoping no one will notice their detestable and hypocritical character flaws. ht/ DailyAlert, via Toronto Star:
“Tel Aviv is built on destroyed Palestinian villages” observes an ad hoc committee of artists and filmmakers heaping scorn on the Toronto International Film Festival for daring to program a Tel Aviv segment, as Israel’s biggest city marks its 100th anniversary. While the UN awarded Tel Aviv to Israel more than six decades ago, the subtext is that Tel Aviv is akin to an illegal Jewish settlement.
Anti-Israel diatribes are becoming a bore: Complaints against the Royal Ontario Museum for showing Israel’s biblical Dead Sea Scrolls; “Israel Apartheid Week” for high-minded student activists; public employee union locals calling for a boycott of Israeli academics; and the latest Pride parade featuring a float that attacked gay-friendly Israel for apartheid policies (ignoring other Middle Eastern regimes that persecute gays).
What a strange plot twist: Canadian filmmakers who pay lip service to free expression trying to bring the curtains down on Israeli filmmakers whose art is tainted by their Tel Aviv origins. But why not castigate city hall for twinning Toronto with Chongqing, given China’s human rights abuses? Or demand that Toronto sever its “friendship” links with Volgograd because of Russia’s political sins? Tel Aviv, it seems, makes for a more tempting target.

A Palestinian Choice
If Arabs have a right to self-determination, so then do Jews. If Palestinianism is valid, so then is Zionism. From WSJ via DailyAlert:
* On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu delivered a detailed speech in which he hailed President Obama’s “desire to bring about a new era of reconciliation in our region.” He said he was “willing to meet” with Arab leaders “at any time, at any place, in Damascus, in Riyadh, in Beirut and in Jerusalem as well” to make peace. He invited Arab entrepreneurs to “assist the Palestinians and us to give the economy a jump-start.” He committed his government to all of Israel’s international agreements. He said “we have no intention to build new settlements or set aside land for new settlements.” “In my vision of peace,” he said, “there are two free peoples living side by side in this small land, with good neighborly relations and mutual respect, each with its flag, anthem and government, with neither one threatening its neighbor’s security and existence.”
* To this, the Palestinian reaction was to say the speech was “worthless,” “nothing but a hoax,” that it had “destroyed all peace initiatives and [chances for] a solution,” and that Mr. Netanyahu was “a liar and a crook.” And that was the reaction among the Palestinian moderates.
* The transformation of the Gaza Strip into an armed and hostile Hamas enclave is evidence enough of why any future Palestinian state would have to be demilitarized. Nor should the thought of Israel as a Jewish state be controversial: That’s how it was conceived by the UN resolution that helped bring it into existence, and that’s how it was recognized by Harry Truman minutes after it declared independence.
* For too long the Palestinians have practiced a kind of fantasy politics, in which all right was on their side, concession was dishonor, and mistakes never had consequences. Mr. Netanyahu’s speech now offers them the choice between fantasy and statehood. Judging from early reactions, they’re choosing wrongly again.

Jew-hatred from AIC, Matzpen, Diakonia, Christian Aid and Sodepau. Via NGO Monitor:
The Alternative Information Center (AIC) is a radical political organization run by individuals with links to the Trotskyite anti-Zionist Revolutionary Communist League (Matzpen) and the PFLP terror group. Its funders include: Diakonia (from the Swedish government), Christian Aid (Irish government), and Sodepau (Catalan government in Spain).
Examples of AIC rhetoric:
- “…Israel’s colonial strategies of ethnic cleansing, systematic segregation, the denial of basic civil and human rights and the erasing of Palestinians from history…”
- “Shimon Peres is definitely an enemy of the Palestinian people, of human rights and of peace, and any kind of collaboration by a Palestinian organization with the Peres Center is scandalous…”

- “Barak and the rest of them – to Nuremberg!”
- “[Sanctions] can provide an excellent framework to fight normalization with Israel.”

Islam and Muslims are involved in at least 25 of the conflicts going on in the world: in Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Cyprus, East Timor, India, Indonesia (2 provinces), Kashmir, Kazakastan, Kosovo, Kurdistan, Macedonia, the Middle East, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Sudan, Russia-Chechnya, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uganda and Uzbekistan.
Doesn’t this mean that extremist Islam is the norm and normal Islam is extremely rare?
Via Irish Examiner:
The media has a fixation on Israel (and its supposed crimes) which is, for want of a better word, disproportionate. The fact that Israel is the world’s one and only Jewish state – amidst a vast ocean of Muslim states – inevitably makes many Jewish people think it’s them, and not Israel as such, which is in the media’s sights.
The International Crisis Group is currently tracking 70 conflicts around the world, from Afghanistan and Algeria to Yemen and Zimbabwe. So why the obsession with Israel? It’s the only country in the world whose existence is queried.
Could it be some wrongheaded notion of guilt for having set up Israel after the Holocaust, when actually Israel fought British imperialism for its independence? Could it be, as many Israelis believe, that we see Israelis as Jews in the latest manifestation of centuries-old anti-Semitism?
