FIVE GITMO DETAINEES THREATEN AMERICA WHILE A FORMER CELLMATE TAKES LEAD OF THE TALIBAN

The new head of the Taliban who is leading the fight against Americans in southern Afghanistan is a former prisoner at Guantanamo Bay. Now his goal is to slaughter the 17,000 additional troops that President Obama has sent to Afghanistan, according to the Associated Press.

“Abdullah Ghulam Rasoul, formerly Guantanamo prisoner No. 008, was among 13 Afghan prisoners released to the Afghan government in December 2007. Rasoul is now known as Mullah Abdullah Zakir, a nom de guerre that Pentagon and intelligence officials say is used by a Taliban leader who is in charge of operations against U.S. and Afghan forces in southern Afghanistan.”

Rasoul’s  “stated mission is to counter the U.S. troop surge” in Afghanistan, according to the AP.

Rasoul’s return to terrorism is a prime example of why Obama should not close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. What is he thinking when he knows that these terrorists are returning to the battlefield to kill Americans?

At the same time that Rasoul’s Taliban promotion hit the news, five other Gitmo prisoners said they are proud of their part in the slaughter of innocents on 9/11. Obama stopped the trial for these terrorists, but a judge released their statements.

“Killing you and fighting you, destroying you and terrorizing you … are all considered to be great legitimate duties in our religion,” said the five terrorists, one of whom is Khalid Sheik Mohammed the alleged 9/11 mastermind, who call themselves the “The 9/11 Shura Council,” which is the Arabic word for  advisory group.

Obama is making a truly fatal error by closing Gitmo. Please help Move America Forward stop the closure.

“The evidence is mounting that Obama’s order to close Gitmo endangers Americans, but his first priority should be protecting the American people,” MAF Executive Director Catherine Moy said. “Our troops will now have to deal with Rasoul and other former Gitmo prisoners because they were allowed to leave the prison, which is safe and humane.”

Even the AP admits that the revelation of Rasoul’s leadership position and intent to attack American troops hurts Obama’s plans to close Gitmo and send the prisoners to the United States or other countries. America released Rasoul to the Afghan government, which released him.

At least two Saudi detainees once held in Gitmo were released to Saudi Arabia for rehabilitation. Now they are al-Qaida members, National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair said.

“Mr. Obama has no concrete plans on what to do with these very dangerous prisoners, and that should alarm Americans,” Moy said. “The leader of the Taliban was set free in Afghanistan. The same thing can happen over and over if Obama closes Guantanamo Bay.”

The CIA warned Israel and Turkey three weeks ago about preparations by an al-Qaeda member who infiltrated Turkey from a Middle Eastern country to carry out a deadly attack against Israeli passengers at Turkish airports.

In response, Israel decided to halt its flights to the Turkish resort city of Antalya.

Abu Yahia al-Libi, an al-Qaeda commander who escaped from a U.S. prison in Afghanistan in 2005, says in a video posted on militant Web sites Thursday that Muslims should launch attacks against Western and Arab capitals because of the failure of leaders in those countries to denounce Israel’s offensive in Gaza.

Former Guantanamo Bay detainee Said Ali al-Shihri has emerged as the deputy leader of al-Qaeda’s Yemeni branch.

He was released to Saudi Arabia in 2007 and passed through a Saudi rehabilitation program for former jihadists before resurfacing with al-Qaeda in Yemen, where he is suspected of involvement in a deadly bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Sana in September.

So far, it has only affected the Algerian branch of al-Qaeda — the one that, after killing innocents via suicide attacks, proclaimed “glad tidings.” (So much for the notion that Allah is on “their side.”) Considering how “cosmopolitan” al-Qaeda terrorists are, regularly infiltrating non-Muslim nations, mixing in with the “crowd,” this may prove to be — directly or indirectly — just one more way for jihadists to kill non-Muslims: instead of committing suicide to kill infidels, “martyrdom-seekers” can now just try to contaminate the former with their Black Death.

40 -Muslim members of AQLIM (al-Qaeda in the Land of the Islamic Maghreb), the largest Al-Qaeda group outside the Middle East have died by the Black Death.The plague, responsible for the deaths of an estimated 75 million people world wide during the 14th century, swept through the AQLIM training at a forest camp in Algeria, North Africa, and was only discovered when security forces found a body by a roadside.

According to The Sun, Al-Qaeda chiefs fear the plague may have been passed to other terror cells, and even Taliban fighters in Afghanistan. One security source quoted by the paper said “This is the deadliest weapon yet in the war against terror. Most of the terrorists do not have the basic medical supplies needed to treat the disease. It spreads quickly and kills within hours. This will be really worrying al-Qaeda.”

There is believed to be 1,000 terrorists attached to the camp where the outbreak took place, with many reported fleeing to other camps, potentially spreading the disease.

The Persian Gulf remains a major source of funding for al-Qaeda and its affiliates, with millions of dollars being sent from the region to terrorist groups.

Recipients of this largesse include the Pakistani-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), suspected of perpetrating the recent attack in India.

LeT operatives and supporters are particularly active in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, according to the U.S. Treasury Department. LeT’s finance chief, Haji Muhammad Ashraf, has traveled to the Gulf to raise funds for LeT. In 2003, he helped LeT leaders in Saudi Arabia increase fundraising there.

Similarly, the Saudi-based Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation was designated as a terrorist-supporting entity in part because its office in Pakistan supported LeT.

Two books, The Coming Balkan Caliphate: The Threat of Radical Islam to Europe and the West.and Unholy Terror: Bosnia, Al-Qa’ida, and the Rise of Global Jihad document the steady advance of radical Islam in Bosnia and the Balkans, pasticularly Al Qaeda.

Both books are reviewed by Leslie Lebl, a Fellow of the American Center for Democracy, at American Thinker.

The Al Qaeda Reader, written by Raymond Ibrahim, exposes al-Qaeda’s ultimate motives by showings the striking differences between statements published in English for Westerners and those in Arabic for Muslims. Al-Qaeda’s publications for the Muslim world are completely different in tone and content. In addition to laying bare al-Qaeda’s ultimate motives, The Al Qaeda Reader includes the organization’s propagandist speeches, which are directed primarily at Americans, Europeans, and Iraqis. This book makes clear that al-Qaeda is not an organization committed to a war that is finite, defensive, and based on specific complaints. Al-Qaeda stresses Islam’s compulsory demand for “offensive jihad,” that is, not because Islam is “under attack,” as they claim in messages to the West, but simply to offer the world the three sacred choices: accept Islam, live in total submission to Islamic overlords as marginal citizens of an Islamic state, or die.

Al-Qaeda has officially added President-elect Barack Obama to its enemies list.

In a new video message, Ayman al-Zawahiri, al-Qaeda’s number two, calls Obama a “House Negro” who “claims” to be Christian.

The video says that because Obama has chosen to support Israel and has threatened to strike Pakistan and send more troops to Afghanistan, he has decided to continue “the crimes of the American crusade.”

Zawahiri also says that by choosing to abandon the faith of his Muslim father in favor of Christianity and to continue waging America’s War on Terror, Obama has agreed to “pray the prayer of the Jews.”

In case anyone misses the point of this diatribe (widely distributed on Arab television networks), the video portrays Obama wearing a yarmulke – a Jewish skullcap.

Secret enclaves of al-Qaeda extremists based in London, Birmingham and Luton are planning mass-casualty attacks in Britain, according to a leaked government intelligence report. The document, drawn up by the intelligence branch of the Ministry of Defense, MI5 and Special Branch, states that “some thousands” of extremists are active in the UK. They are predominantly UK-born and many are believed to have been trained in overseas terrorist camps.

The report states: “For the foreseeable future the UK will continue to be a high-priority target for international terrorists aligned with al-Qaeda. It will face a threat from British nationals, including Muslim converts, and UK-based foreign terrorists, as well as terrorists planning attacks from abroad.”
