Palestinian Minister says Israel conducts medical experiments on prisoners

Palestinian Minister Says Israel Conducts Medical Experiments on Prisoners

Issa Qaraqe, Palestinian Minister for Prisoners Affairs, speaks at the “UN Roundtable on Legal Aspects of the Question of Palestine” at the UN Office in Geneva

Issa Qaraqe, Palestinian Minister for Prisoners’ Affairs represented the Palestinian Authority. His slanderous comments accused Israel of torturing and raping little children and subjecting Palestinian detainees to medical experiments. Violence, he declared, was the Palestinian right and intention. Here are some of his words (UN translator, original in Arabic):

“I convey the greetings of families and prisoners in Israeli prisons and camps…. Israeli authorities since 1967 have detained …children, women, sick people, and disabled…UN resolutions have confirmed the right and legality of resistance of people … and supported national liberation movements to liberate from foreign occupation and control… Israel committed …war crimes and crimes against humanity against these prisoners… Israel …is using cruel and barbaric methods of torture, including on children from the moment of detention. Detention is done under the pretext of the fight against terrorism… The youngest child was only 8 years old… Some of them are subjected to sexual assaults… Thousands of medical experiments are conducted by Israeli pharmaceuticals against Palestinian detainees… The Israeli court system is inherently unjust.”

When he finished the Chairman of the UN Committee Diallo thanked him “for representing state of Palestine during this meeting.”

Thereafter the UN closed the meeting to members of the public. The discussions of the roundtable, with the exception of the opening and closing sessions, are open only to members of the Committee and the UN staff which services their obscene activities.

Cartoon repeats PA libel
that Israel is planning
to destroy Jerusalem mosques

PLO official: Israel wants
to “erect what they call ‘the Temple’ over Al-Aqsa”
Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik

One of the libels continuously repeated by the PA is that Israel is planning to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and everything else on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem – in order to build what the PA refers to as the “alleged Temple.”

Official PA TV reiterated this libel when it broadcast on its show Circle of Events a cartoon from the Jordanian newspaper Al-Dustur, which  depicts Israel as a monstrous soldier gorging on the Dome of the Rock Mosque, while a Hamas activist holding a flag with the word “Land” and a Fatah activist holding a flag with the word “Day” commemorate the Palestinian Land Day. [Official PA TV, March 30, 2014]

Similarly, on the same day, Chairman of the Political Committee of the Palestinian National Council (the legislative body of the PLO) Khaled Mismar accused Israel of scheming to tear down the Al-Aqsa Mosque:

“Now they want to divide up the Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., the Temple Mount Plaza). Furthermore, they want to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and erect what they call ‘the Temple’ over Al-Aqsa.” [Official PA TV, March 30, 2014]

Palestinian Media Watch has reported on similar cartoons in the PA media depicting Israelis and Jews eating the mosques.

PMW has documented that PA leaders repeatedly spread this libel, which not only demonizes Jews and Israelis but  also serves the purpose of denying Jewish history in the land in general and in Jerusalem in particular.

PMW recently reported that top PA religious leaders deny Jews the right to pray at the Western Wall. The highest religious authority in the PA, Mufti Muhammad Hussein, repeated this when he responded to what he called Israel’s “attempt… at lay[ing] hands on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque… [and] in addition to the threat of destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque to establish the alleged Temple on its ruins.” [Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, March 26, 2014]

Simple Truths

Arabs have been killing Jews since the late 1800′s when there was no “occupation”.   Recall the Hebron riots and massace of Jews in 1929, as just one example.  And don’t try to suggest  that “uprooting of palestinians” from their homes was a reason for anything.  Arabs chose war in 1948.  Arabs suffer the consequences.  Fatah was founded in 1964; unless causality has no meaning, the resistance to Israel – Fatah – was born with no reference to 1967.  It’s Arab rejectionism of all things non-Arab.  It has nothing to do with Israel winning the war in 1967 but, rather, with Israel being reborn in 1948.

No one ever hears of outrage when the Egyptians were in possession of Gaza for almost twenty years. There was no movement toward a Palestinian state when Gaza was under the control of Egypt and the West Bank was under control of Trans-Jordan.  That’s because it was Arabs controlling the regions.  But now that Jews were returning to their indigenous homeland, the Arabs decided to wage war.

Jews are not the usurpers in Jerusalem. They have been living there since the Biblical era and have been the majority population since the 19th century. Jews have synagogues and other holy sites in most cities of the world. But do they claim sovereignty over those cities because of it? Of course not! It would be preposterous and people wouldn’t accept it. Jerusalem is the undivided capital of Israel and will remain so. That is why there is no reason at all that the Israeli government could not plan and build residences for its citizens – Jews and Arabs – in any part of the city. Those who get out of joint about that are either misinformed or looking for a pretext to create a “situation.”

The Middle East War on Christians

Via The Wall Street Journal:

Over the past century, a plague of persecution has swept across the Middle East, emptying the region of its Christian population. At the turn of the 20th century, Christians made up 26% of the Middle East’s population. Today, that figure has dwindled to less than 10%. Intolerant and extremist governments are driving away the Christian communities that have lived in the Middle East since their faith was born.

In Syrian cities like Aleppo and Damascus, Christians who refused to convert to Islam have been kidnapped, shot and beheaded by Islamist opposition fighters. In Egypt, mobs of Muslim Brotherhood members burn Coptic Christian churches in the same way they once obliterated Jewish synagogues. And in Iraq, terrorists deliberately target Christian worshippers.
Over the past 10 years, nearly two-thirds of Iraq’s 1.5 million Christians have been driven from their homes. Many settled in Syria before once again becoming victims of unrelenting persecution. Syria’s Christian population has dropped from 30% in the 1920s to less than 10% today.

In January, a report by the nondenominational Christian organization Open Doors documented the 10 most oppressive countries for Christians; nine were Muslim-majority states noted for Islamic extremism, tyrannical regimes that uphold archaic blasphemy and defamation-of-religion laws. The Islamic Republic of Iran has executed dozens of people for the crimes of “waging war against God” and “spreading corruption on Earth.”

Israel is the only country in the Middle East with a growing Christian population. Its Christian community has increased from 34,000 in 1948 to 140,000 today, in large measure because of the freedoms Christians are afforded. Salim Joubran, a Christian Arab Israeli, has served as a Supreme Court justice since 2003.
Father Gabriel Nadaf, a Greek Orthodox priest living in Israel, recently told me: “Human rights are not something to be taken for granted. Christians in much of the Middle East have been slaughtered and persecuted for their faith, but here in Israel they are protected.”

Hizbullah Unmasked

From NY Times via Daily Alert:

  • On Feb. 5, after more than six months of investigations, the Bulgarian government announced that it believed Hizbullah was responsible for the attack last July that killed five Israeli tourists and a Bulgarian bus driver and injured dozens more in the resort town of Burgas.
  • This report is significant because a European Union member state, Bulgaria, explicitly pointed a finger at Hizbullah and lifted the veil on the group’s continued terrorist activities. Europe can no longer ignore the threat that this group poses to the Continent and to the world.
  • Hizbullah first gained notoriety in 1983 after bombing the U.S. Embassy in Beirut – an attack that killed 63 people. Shortly thereafter, Hizbullah bombed the American and French Marine Barracks in Beirut, killing 241 Americans and 58 French service members.
  • European governments must respond swiftly. They must disrupt its operational networks, stop flows of financial assistance to the group, crack down on Hizbullah-linked criminal enterprises and condemn the organization’s leaders for their continued pursuit of terrorism.
  • The U.S. applauds those countries that have long recognized Hizbullah’s nefarious nature. Europe must now act collectively and respond resolutely to this attack by adding Hizbullah to the EU’s terrorist list.

Today in Jewish History – The Eve of Rosh Hashana

Via Aish.com.  Elul 29

In 2000, Palestinian Arabs launched a campaign of terror which came to be known as the Al-Aqsa Intifada. Two days earlier, an Israeli soldier was killed by his Palestinian counterpart while on joint patrol, and the next day, Ariel Sharon visited the Temple Mount.

The next day, on the eve of Rosh Hashana, Palestinian violence erupted across Israel. (Later investigations indicate that the Palestinian Authority had pre-planned the intifada.) Tuvia Grossman, a 20-year-old Jewish student from Chicago, was thrust into the international limelight on when The New York Times published a photo of him — bloodied and battered — crouching beneath a club-wielding Israeli policeman. The caption misidentified him as a Palestinian victim of the intifada. The truth was the total opposite, and the realization that Israel was being unfairly portrayed in the media led to the founding of media monitoring groups such as HonestReporting.com. Over the next four years, Palestinian violence — bolstered by incitement in the Palestinian media — would claim the lives of over 1,000 Israelis and 4,000 Palestinians. The attacks included a wave of over 100 suicide bombings that targeted Israeli restaurants, synagogues and buses.

Here is what the NY Times originally ran.  Remember that Tuvia Grossman, the bloodied man in the photo below, is the Jew, and the media wanted to depict him as a “poorpalestinianpeeeeeepulllllll”.

Tuvia Grossman

Here is the follow-up retraction from the NYT …

(reprinted with permission from Arutz-7)

IF HE’S BEATEN, HE MUST BE PALESTINIAN

This past Saturday, The New York Times and many other papers published a
picture – supplied by the Associated Press – of an angry Israeli policeman
and a badly-beaten and bloodied man, with the caption, “An Israeli
policeman and a Palestinian on the Temple Mount.” The picture can be seen
at . Dr. Aaron Grossman, of Chicago, Ill., sent the following letter to the Times:

“Regarding your picture on page A5 (Sept. 30) of the Israeli soldier and
the Palestinian on the Temple Mount – that Palestinian is actually my son,
Tuvia Grossman, a Jewish student from Chicago. He, and two of his friends,
were pulled from their taxicab while traveling in Jerusalem, by a mob of
Palestinian Arabs and were severely beaten and stabbed. That picture could
not have been taken on the Temple Mount because there are no gas stations
on the Temple Mount and certainly none with Hebrew lettering, like the one
clearly seen behind the Israeli soldier attempting to protect my son from
the mob.”

Tuvia Grossman was on his way to the Western Wall on Friday afternoon, and
has been hospitalized ever since with head injuries and a stab wound. He
told Arutz-7 today,

“I was in a taxi on the way to the Kotel [Western Wall] and we got
stoned… [They took me out of the car and beat me and] I gave a scream,
and for a second they let go of me, and I said Shma Yisrael, because I
thought it was all over… After they let go of me, I ran – even though I
had a knife in my leg, G-d gave me the strength to run and I was able to
make it up the hill where there were soldiers by the gas station and they
took care of me. But I was being beaten for around 5 or 6 minutes with a
rock on the top of my head, and I was stabbed in the back of my leg and
kicked and punched all over my body.”

“[When I saw the mis-captioned AP picture] I was extremely, extremely
upset. People see a picture of a youth and they think that it’s a
Palestinian being beaten by Israelis, it changes their world view and makes
them think that it’s the Israelis beating up the Arabs. I was extremely
upset. It was totally the opposite. That policeman was yelling at the
Arabs to back off, and was protecting me from them – so to change it around
and to say that he was beating me, that’s just total distortion, and the
world must be notified about how this is not true – the Jews are the ones
suffering at the hands of the Arabs.”

The Times published a correction today, in which it identified Tuvia
Grossman as “an American student in Israel” – not as a Jew who was beaten
by Arabs. The “correction” also noted that “Mr. Grossman was wounded” in
“Jerusalem’s Old City” – although in fact it occurred in an Arab-populated
neighborhood of Jerusalem, not in the Old City. An Associated Press
spokesman told Arutz-7 that it was looking into the matter.

Muslims hold Jew-hating rally in Toronto: Jews are “racist, inhuman and barbaric”

Via TheBlaze:

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), a collaborative group comprised of Jewish organizations in Canada, has released a startling three-minute video clip of what appears to be an anti-Israel protest.

The rally, which took place on August 28 at Queens Park in Toronto, has ignited fear and debate surrounding radical Islam and its infusion into Western society. IsraelNationalNews.com describes the event, which was called Al-Quds Day:

Al-Quds Day has been marked since 1979, as decided by Ayatollah Khomeini and the Iranian government, on the last Friday of the Ramadan month in order to express the support of Iran and the Muslim world of Palestinians Authority Arabs and “the liberation of Jerusalem,” to discredit Israel and call for its destruction, and to defy the United States and other western powers.

PA TV continues to glorify
most lethal attack in Israel’s history and terrorist Dalal Mughrabi

http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=5562

by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik

Last week, Palestinian Authority TV once again chose to glorify the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history.

In 1978, a group of terrorists led by Dalal Mughrabi sailed from Lebanon to Israel to carry out a terror attack. They hijacked a bus and killed 37 Israeli civilians.

PA TV broadcast a video honoring the terrorists, describing them as having “no fear of death or the darkness of prison.” PA TV also broadcast this video as part of itscelebration of the anniversary of the Fatah movement in January.

At the Fatah anniversary, PA TV also broadcast another video honoring the terrorists. It described them as “heroes… who shook the land, brought down mountains,” and mentioned how “the coast was stormy with the glory of Dalal Mughrabi.”

During the last three months, PA TV has broadcast another video twice weekly honoring Dalal Mughrabi, associating her with “Martyrdom” and “victory over enmity.”

The video is part of a TV campaign to “support women’s issues” in the Arab world, which was broadcast last year on more than 50 Arab TV stations including Palestinian Authority TV. It presents several “model women.” Two of the women promoted as role models for Arab women today are Dalal Mughrabi, famous for her terrorist attack that killed dozens, and Al-Khansa, famous for celebrating the Martyrdom deaths of her children.

For years, it has been Palestinian Authority policy to glorify terrorists and turn them into role models. PA TV is one of the means by which the PA transmits this message.

PMW has documented how the PA has turned terrorist Dalal Mughrabi into a hero and role model of society

The following are excerpts from the PA TV music videos glorifying terrorist Dalal Mughrabi and the attack she led:

“We [PLO squad] set out on patrol from Lebanon; with no fear of death or the darkness of prison. On the coast [Dalal] Mughrabi’s blood was shed, the color of [red] coral on [white] lemon flowers.” [PA TV (Fatah), Jan. 2 and Aug. 24, 2011]

“The coast was stormy with the glory of Dalal Mughrabi. On the [Israeli] coast the heroes landed, who shook the land, brought down mountains.Dalal declared the birth of the [Palestinian] Republic, the birth of the Republic.” [PA TV (Fatah), Dec. 30, 2010]

At Least Six Israelis Killed, 25 Injured in Terrorist Attacks Near Egyptian Border

Via IDF:

[Muslim] Terrorists carried out three terrorist attacks near the southern Israeli city of Eilat on Thursday (August 18).

In an incident that occurred around noon, terrorists opened fire on an Egged bus that was travelling from Be’er Sheva to Eilat on Highway 12 along the Israel-Egypt border. Nine people were wounded.

Magen David Adom paramedics were called to the scene and injured persons were transported to Yoseftal Hospital in Eilat.

In another incident, an explosive device exploded next to an IDF patrol, wounding several people.

All incidents occurred approximately 20 kilometers north of Eilat.

IDF forces pursued the terrorists that carried out the attacks and exchanged fire with them.

Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Benny Gantz arrived in the area following the attacks.

IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yoav (Poly) Mordechai said that the attacks were part of a “grave and complex event” in which civilians and soldiers were injured.

The IDF calls on the public to avoid the area where the attacks occurred and allow security and rescue forces to carry out their work.

Highways 10 and 12 are closed until further notice.

The Kerem Shalom Crossing and the Erez Crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip were closed following the attacks.

Reclaiming a Historical Truth: Arab Villagers Were Ordered Out by Local Leaders

Via Ha’aretz:

The tragedy befalling the Palestinian Arabs in 1948 was exclusively of their own making. Large numbers of them were driven from their homes by their own leaders and/or the “Arab Liberation Army” that had entered Palestine prior to the end of the Mandate.Of this there is an overwhelming and incontrovertible body of contemporary evidence – intelligence briefs, captured Arab documents, press reports, personal testimonies and memoirs.

In the largest and best-known example of Arab-instigated exodus, tens of thousands of Arabs were ordered or bullied into leaving the city of Haifa (on April 21-22) on the instructions of the Arab Higher Committee, the effective “government” of the Palestinian Arabs. Only days earlier, Tiberias’ 6,000-strong Arab community had been similarly forced out by its own leaders.

In Jaffa, Palestine’s largest Arab city, the municipality organized the transfer of thousands of residents by land and sea; in Jerusalem, the AHC ordered the transfer of women and children, and local gang leaders pushed out residents of several neighborhoods.

In the words of a British intelligence report: “Many would not have responded to the call for a complete evacuation but for the rumors and propaganda spread by the [Arab] National Committee.”
The deliberate depopulation of Arab villages and their transformation into military strongholds was a hallmark of the Arab campaign from the onset of hostilities.
