If anyone watched Obama’s press conference yesterday regarding the mass murder of Americans at Ft. Hood’s army base, you were probably stunned as well.

I was outdone and frankly, embarrassed, by Obama’s loathsome and inappropriate behavior at the news about the mass murder of innocent American civilians that took place at Fort Hood. But I’m not surprised. Obama’s insincerity and fraudulent character have been apparent for three years now, ever since the Democrat party began to parade the inexperienced back-bencher as their new poster-boy.

As Hosam Maher Husein Smadi prepared to remotely detonate what he believed was a powerful bomb underneath a Dallas skyscraper, his comrade-in-arms, who was actually an undercover FBI agent, offered him earplugs, authorities say.

Smadi declined. He said he wanted to hear the blast, according to investigators.

Smadi, a Jordanian who lives in Texas, is accused of trying to blow up the 60-story Fountain Place office tower.

The FBI on Thursday announced the arrests of Smadi and another man, Michael C. Finton, who was charged with trying to blow up a building in Illinois in a nearly identical but unrelated plot.

In an attempt to better understand the radicalization process, Laura Grossman and I released a study in April, “Homegrown Terrorists in the U.S. and UK: An Empirical Examination of the Radicalization Process,” that explores external manifestations of radicalization of 117 homegrown “jihadist” terrorists.

Specific manifestations include adopting a legalistic interpretation of Islam, coming to trust only select and ideologically rigid religious authorities, perceiving Islam and the West as irreconcilably opposed, manifesting a low tolerance for perceived theological deviance, and attempting to impose one’s religious beliefs on others.

The prevalence of these factors suggests the importance of religio-political ideology as individuals become radicalized (an ideology that cannot be described as Islam itself, but rather a rigid and non-mainstream understanding of that faith).

About 20% had a spiritual mentor, a more experienced Muslim who gave instruction and direction during the radicalization process.

One recruiter was killed and another wounded when Muslim convert, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, 23, of Memphis, TN, opened fire into the office.   Recruiting commander Lt. Col Thomas F. Artis says the victims had just completed basic training and were spending two weeks in Little Rock to recruit in their home area, showing the difference that less than two months of training made in their lives.

While Israel is engaged with Hamas overseas in a deadly fight to protect the security of Israel’s citizens, we find ourselves in a fight with one of Hamas’s long-standing tributaries, CAIR.

CAIR or the Council on American-Islamic Relations has been allowed by the Florida counties of Broward and Dade to purchase advertising on 120 of our taxpayer-funded public buses. The messages permitted to be placed on these buses are offensive in nature.

Passersby read on these buses, “Islam: The Way of Life of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad.” The message presented by CAIR is that Abraham, Moses and Jesus – arguably the three most important icons of Judaism and Christianity – were Muslim. The fact that Islam was created long after both of these religions is disregarded by CAIR, just as many of CAIR’s radical brethren disregard the legitimacy of the Jews’ and the Christians’ Bibles, which they claim are nothing more than forgeries corrupted by evil men.

So while CAIR props up its religion in bold giant letters, others’ religions get trampled on, stamped with the approval of both Broward and Dade’s governments. And to make matters worse, the insulting messages ran all throughout Christmas and Hanukkah.

Shame on the counties for allowing this to happen. Shame on the counties for approving such offensive matter to be plastered on our public transportation.

The counties say that, in allowing the material to be placed on the buses, they are just being fair – that they have allowed advertising from Churches in the past. But we are not here to complain about religious advertising, nor are we here to complain about Muslims being able to advertise. We are here to say that the problem is with the message being presented.

And we are here to say, as well, that the problem is with the messenger.

CAIR was created by Hamas, the organization that is, as we speak, raining rockets and mortar fire down on Israeli communities, terrorizing Israel’s citizens. CAIR was created by Hamas, the organization which is currently using Palestinian women and children as human shields. CAIR was created by Hamas, the organization which perpetrates gruesome acts of violence against Jews and even its own people, through such horrific means as suicide or homicide bombings.

CAIR was launched in 1994 by three leaders of the American propaganda wing of Hamas, the Islamic Association for Palestine or IAP. CAIR was founded as being a part of the American Palestine Committee, a group led by then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. And CAIR was established as a defense mechanism for Marzook and other Islamic radicals, who have been taken into custody by American authorities and placed in our American prisons.

CAIR was indeed created by Hamas. And according to the United States Justice Department, the relationship between CAIR and Hamas existed long after the group’s founding. That is the reason why CAIR was recently named by the Justice Department as a co-conspirator for a federal trial dealing with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. It was the largest terrorism trial in U.S. history, and in the end, all of the defendants were found guilty on all charges.

CAIR likes to say that it was unindicted – an unindicted co-conspirator – but let it be understood from now until CAIR is finally shut down, “UNINDICTED” DOESN’T MEAN “NOT GUILTY.”

The counties of Broward and Dade have, at least up till this date, ignored our concerns.

We are here to say to Broward County Mayor Stacy Ritter and the Broward County Commission and the Dade County Commission as well, enough with this idiocy! Take down the Hamas messages off of our taxpayer-funded buses now! We didn’t agree to fund this trash, and we expect more from you. You were elected to protect us, not to offend us. You were elected to provide us security, not to accept money from those who wish to do us harm.

And do you even know where the money you accepted is from?

Take down the messages from the buses now! Throw CAIR off the bus immediately!!!

• Israel was attacked five times by Arabs in pre-meditated wars of aggression.
• Israel correctly defended herself because that’s what sovereing nations do.
• Arabs started wars; Arabs suffer the consequences.

I had a feeling that the group responsible was a little too proud of themselves to keep it quiet and it appears that I was right. Here is an excerpt from the blog article titled “Jan. 11 Free Palestine Protesters Shut Down Pro-U.S./Israeli War Rally,” by David Dixon of the “Charlotte Free Gaza Movement” as published on “Action Center for Justice.”

Charlotte NC – On Jan. 11, over 100 people, mostly Muslim & Palestinian, including many students & children, marched through uptown Charlotte to a Pro-Israel Rally & held a loud protest across the street.

Chants included “Shame, Shame Israel,” “Stop The Killing, Stop The Crime,” “Free Free Palestine,” “Baby Killers You Will See, Palestine Will Be Free,” “Olmert, Olmert You Should Know, Back To Palestine We Will Go,” “Gaza Gaza Don’t You Cry, Palestine Will Never Die,” “Occupation Is A Crime, Free, Free Palestine,” “Stop Killing Children,” “Stop Supporting Israel,” “From The River To The Sea, Palestine Will Be Free,” “Long Live Palestine,” and others.

It goes on to say:

Free Palestine protesters began taunting them with loud chants of “Baby Killers Came To Town, We Came & Shut Them Down!” After the Pro-Israel Rally abruptly dispersed, protesters chanted, “The People United Will Never Be Defeated.”

They then marched through uptown, chanting loudly, & held a spirited rally at Bobcat Arena where some type of an evangelical christian rival was going on.

First of all, I believe the word they were shooting for was “revival” and not “rival”-but who knows? Second of all, it’s nice to know they are so blatantly proud of themselves. I guess they decided that going all the way and saying something like “we attacked a bunch of innocent children who had zero to do with any protests that may be going on around town and were simply trying to attend a worship service,” would be a little over the top.

Apparently the group has already selected their next group of victims and have the blessing of various other local and national groups:

Not terribly surprising since he also once said that 9/11 was planned by America. As this report points out, however, Salah Sultan is not just another hate-preacher appearing on Arab TV; he also “holds U.S. permanent residency status and, according to one federal law enforcement official, travels regularly on a U.S. passport.” Moreover, he is on several prominent U.S. Muslim boards and committees — many of which (no doubt temporarily) removed his name from their websites and membership lists immediately after MEMRI translated and posted his tirade.

“Top American Islamic Cleric Threatens U.S. on Egyptian TV,” by Patrick Poole for Pajamas Media, January 7:

Islamic cleric Salah Sultan appeared on Egypt’s Al-Nas TV last week and delivered a warning of death and destruction for America. Not only did he attack the U.S. for its military support of Israel in its fight against the Hamas terrorist organization, but he vowed retaliation such that more Americans would be killed than those Palestinians (and, presumably, Hamas terrorists) killed in the present conflict in Gaza, emphasizing that this would take place “soon”:”America, which gave [Israel] everything it needed in these battles, will suffer economic stagnation, ruin, destruction, and crime, which will surpass what is happening in Gaza. One of these days, the U.S. will suffer more deaths than all those killed in this third Gaza holocaust. This will happen soon.”

He also invoked a notorious Islamic hadith on the inevitable annihilation of the Jews by Muslims:

“The stone, which is thrown at the Jews, hates these Jews, these Zionists, because Allah foretold, via His Prophet Muhammad, that Judgment Day will not come before the Jew and the Muslim fight. The Jew will hide behind stones and trees, and the stone and the tree will speak, saying: ‘Oh Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’ The only exception will be the Gharqad tree.”

This harangue would be nothing new on television in the Islamic world; in fact, it is commonplace. What is unique about Sultan’s threats against America is that he holds U.S. permanent residency status and, according to one federal law enforcement official, travels regularly on a U.S. passport. And as I have reported [1] elsewhere, Sultan is pursuing U.S. citizenship (the status of his application is unknown due to federal privacy laws). Thus, Salah Sultan has lived quite comfortably for more than a decade under the protections of the very country he now threatens with death and destruction.

It should be noted that Salah Sultan is not some obscure figure in the American Islamic world. He serves as a member of the [2] Fiqh Council of North America. Touted as the top Islamic governing body in the U.S., the Fiqh Council is an arm of the Islamic Society of North America. Sultan founded and served as president of the [3] Islamic American University in Southfield, Michigan; he was the national director of tarbiyah (Islamic instruction) for the Muslim American Society; and he continues to operate the [4] American Council for Islamic Research, based in my hometown of Hilliard, Ohio.

Sultan’s Al-Nas TV appearance last week was [5] recorded and [6] translated by the indispensable Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). Curiously, as soon as MEMRI published the video clips of Sultan’s harangue, references to Sultan’s membership with the Fiqh Council were scrubbed from its website. His name has been removed from its [7] list of council members, even though he appeared there as recently as early last week. However, Sultan is still listed as a member on the Fiqh Council’s [8] brochure posted online (no doubt that will be remedied as soon as they are informed of this report)…
