30 Years Later: Iran Hostage Crisis

Posted by smoothstone

Know thine enemy. Via FoxNews:

Nov. 4, 2009, marks the 30th anniversary of the seizure of the U.S. embassy in Tehran, when militant Iranian students took 66 Americans hostage and began a 444-day standoff with the West. Fifty-two Americans were kept in captivity for nearly 15 months by forces loyal to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who established an Islamic theocracy in 1979, months before the storming of the embassy.

President Jimmy Carter ordered an ill-fated rescue attempt in April 1980 in which eight U.S. servicemen died in a mid-air collision between two aircraft flying over the Iranian desert on their way back from the aborted maneuver. The failure left a lasting mark on the Carter administration and helped sink his presidency.

Iran released the hostages on Jan. 20, 1981, 20 minutes after Ronald Reagan assumed office in Washington. The 52 embassy officials were flown from Iran to Algiers, then on to a U.S. airbase in Germany to recover. From there they flew to Newburgh, N.Y., and were bused to West Point, receiving a heroes’ welcome on U.S. soil.

On June 29, 2005, shortly after the depraved Jew-hater Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won the Iranian presidential election, several major news outlets publicized allegations that he participated in the 1979–1981 Iran Hostage Crisis.

Some previous hostages have identified Ahmadinejad as the man in the military jacket on the hostage’s left side in the photo below. Several other sources, including Ahmadinejad, and other hostage takers have disputed these identifications.

Who is Zbigniew Brzezinski?

Posted by smoothstone

To Zbigniew Brzezinski, a Polish-born American politician who served as United States National Security Advisor to the detestable Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981, Israel is a fly on one’s windshield.

Brzezinski “believes that the Jewish lobby forces America into pro-Israel policy, and he defends Carter’s anti-Semitic book, “Peace, Not Apartheid.”

Now Brzezinski has stated that the United States should shoot down Israeli jets if Israel chooses to take military action against a nuclear project in Iran.

According to WND, Brzezinski said:

The U.S. has to be “serious” about denying Israel the right to attack.

That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not.

No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.

The USS Liberty was a U.S. ship in international waters in the Middle East during the Six-Day War in 1967 that was hit by Israeli gunfire – in error.

It’s a typical dirty trick for the manipulative Jew-hating bastard to inject the tragic circumstance of the USS Liberty into a discussion about a sovereign nation defending itself, as if the event of the USS Liberty is in any way morally equivalent to the intentions of the Iranian Muslim monkey Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who denies the Holocaust, has called Israel a ’stinking corpse’ and vows to wipe it off the map.

We already know that Obama has a Jewish problem and just before the 2008 election where America voted in the worst president since Jimmy Carter, Obama added Brzezinski to his list of “advisers.”

Israel is a legitimate and sovereign nation, voted imprimatur by the United Nations.

No one would dare question the right to exist of Libya, Saudi Arabia or Syria. That Zbigniew Brzezinski, a Jew-hating puke vessel would question the right of Israel to defend herself against barbarians who want a one-religion shari’a worldwide, is just a symptom of his inability to “advise” foreign policy.

Coincidentally, according to the Centre for Research on Globalisation, after the September 11, 2001 attacks, and in addition to Brzezinski’s other screw-ups, he played a role in the formation of the Afghan mujaheddin network, some of which later formed the Taliban and al Qaeda. He states in the interview cited in the link above, that blame ought to be laid at the feet of the Soviet Union’s invasion which radicalized the relatively stable Muslim society. Brzezinski is also accused of having “knowingly increased the probability that they (the Soviet Union) would invade” by supporting Afghan rebels before the invasion and drawing the Soviets into an “Afghan trap”.

On another note, Zbigniew Brzezinski’s daughter, Mika Brzezinski, co-hosts a two-hour morning radio show on WABC in New York City with Joe Scarborough. This explains her left-wing skewed politics and inarticulate arguments, which make the radio show almost unbearable to listen to.

Who is Ahmad Vahidi?

Posted by smoothstone

From Washington Times via Daily Alert:

Ahmad Vahidi, nominated Thursday by President Ahmadinejad to serve as Iran’s defense minister, is a suspected international terrorist sought by Interpol in connection with a deadly 1994 attack on a Jewish community center in Argentina.

Vahidi, a former commander of the elite unit of the Revolutionary Guard known as the Quds Force, was listed with four other Iranian officials on Interpol’s most-wanted list in 2007 at the request of Argentine prosecutors.

Kenneth Katzman, a senior analyst at the Congressional Research Service, said Vahidi is also suspected of having played a role in a 1996 attack on the Khobar Towers U.S. Air Force barracks in Saudi Arabia.

“Vahidi was commander of the Quds Force during the late 1980s to early 1990s, and his choice certainly sends a very strong signal that Ahmadinejad plans to continue, and maybe even accelerate, Iran’s material support for pro-Iranian parties and militias in the region,” Katzman said.

Vahidi’s “reputed intimate involvement in various acts of terrorism, particularly against Argentina and the United States, makes his selection especially flagrant,” said Kenneth Piernick, a former chief of the FBI’s Iran-Hizbullah unit.

“This does not look like an unclenched fist.” Malcolm Hoenlein, vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, said the elevation of Vahidi “is reflective of the hard-line nature of the new Cabinet.”

“This should heighten concerns about Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons,” he added.

Report: Iranian Militias Marry, Rape Virgin Prisoners Before Executions

Posted by smoothstone

In the Islamic Republic of Iran it is illegal to execute a woman if she is a virgin.

So to solve that problem, members of Iran’s feared Basij militia forcibly marry female virgin prisoners the night before scheduled executions, raping their new “wives” and making it religiously acceptable to execute them, a self-professed member of the paramilitary group said.

The anonymous militiaman told the Jerusalem Post that at age 18 he was “given the ‘honor’ to temporarily marry young girls before they were sentenced to death.”

Iranian doctors: Nearly 100 killed in riots

Posted by smoothstone

Via YnetNews:

Two physicians who recently visited France say at least 92 people killed in post-election unrest in Islamic republic, although official Iranian reports speak of only 20 deaths.

The doctors refused to be identified for fear of their personal safety. They told the newspaper that they had kept quiet so far because they had feared for their lives.

“Ever since the riots broke out, the militiamen and security forces in civilian clothing have been terrorizing the hospitals in Tehran,” one of them said.

One of the doctors said that following the events of Monday, June 15 – dubbed “Black Monday” – 10 bodies and 28 injured people were received by a hospital in the Iranian capital.

“We discovered that the bullets had infiltrated in a diagonal manner, meaning that they were shot from above, from rooftops,” the doctor said.

NGOs discover Iran’s human rights violations

International NGOs have issued a number of statements on the Iranian government’s suppression of demonstrations following the June 12, 2009 presidential election. In order to restore their claims to leadership and universality in human rights, these NGOs will need to continue to focus sufficient resources on Iran.

Highlights of the report:

  • Before the elections, Iranian violations were not a high priority for HRW or FIDH.
  • Despite its large and active Middle East division, HRW devotes few resources to Iran.
  • The majority of Amnesty’s attention was through narrowly-focused and low-impact “Urgent Actions,” not in-depth reports.
  • NGOs call for “restraint,” “investigations,” and new elections.

As Iranian forces murder protesters, Ahmadinejad heads for Moscow

FLASH: IAEA head admits Iran seeking nuclear bomb

Students of Bible prophecy should keep a close eye on events unfolding in Iran and the epicenter, and keep praying for the Lord to have mercy on that country. With upwards of a million young, pro-democracy Reformers on the streets of Iran demanding an end to the Radicals’ regime, Iranian security forces have murdered as many as two dozen protesters.

Iranian leaders are now threatening the Reformers with the death penalty. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — freshly annointed by the Supreme Leader to stay as the face and voice of the regime’s apocalyptic agenda — couldn’t care less. Ahmadinejad headed straight for Moscow yesterday. There, he met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to continue building a political and military alliance between Russia, China, Iran and Islamic countries in Central Asia. Currently, Iran has “observer” status in the SCO, but has requested full member status. The SCO alliance is evocative of the eastern-portion of the biblical alliance foretold in Ezekiel 38-39 that will come against Israel and seek to destroy the Jewish people in what the Bible calls the “last days” of history. When one considers how closely Russia and Iran are currently growing to the western portion of the prophetic alliance — Sudan, Libya and Algeria, for example — it’s not hard to envision these prophecies coming true in our lifetime, or even in the next few years. That said, I believe it is currently too soon to draw any conclusions. There are many intriguing trends and developments, but it remains far from clear that we’re seeing Bible prophecy come to pass. That said, we cannot rule out the possibility. Events in the region are both unprecedented and riveting. All the more reason for followers of Jesus Christ to “get ready and be prepared” for whatever lies ahead.

MIRACLE, OR MANIPULATION?

Excerpt from an NYT story worth noting: “Iranians are generally united in viewing the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to another four-year term as a miracle. Some believe it in the literal sense that the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, seemed to intend when he said ‘the miraculous hand of God’ was at work. Others believe it in the sense that they see no earthly explanation why an incumbent who presided over worsening inflation, unemployment and isolation would draw more than seven million more votes than in his first victory.”

Observation: With the full backing of his Supreme Leader for his apocalyptic End Times beliefs, is Ahmadinejad more or less likely to give up Iran’s nuclear weapons program to the Obama administration?

Obama refuses to “meddle” in Iran but doesn’t hesitate to “meddle” in Israel

Posted by smoothstone

Looks like Obama’s Muslim identity politics are blinding him to behave like the hypocrite that we already knew he was.

In the first article below, Obama refuses to “meddle” or criticize Iran’s tyranny and Iran’s tyrannical regime’s hiring of Hamas thugs to kill more than 32 Iranian dissidents, yet, in the second article below, Obama willfully meddles into the politics of the sovereign nation of Israel and proceeds to layout where he believes Israel’s national borders should lie.

I have stated it before and I’ll state it again.  Obama was brought in for one singular purpose:  to destroy Israel.

Via JihadWatch:

If the Threat of the Great Satan doesn’t exist, it is necessary to invent it.

“Iran election: Barack Obama refuses to ‘meddle’ over protests,” by David Blair in the Telegraph, June 17 (thanks to James):

Barack Obama, the US president, is refusing to “meddle” in the disputed Iranian elections, despite mass protests over the result which returned President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to power….

President Obama said: “It’s important to understand that, although there is amazing ferment taking place in Iran, the difference between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi in terms of their actual policies may not be as great as has been advertised.

“Either way, we were going to be dealing with an Iranian regime that has historically been hostile to the United States, that has caused some problems in the neighbourhood and has been pursuing nuclear weapons,” he told CNBC television.

He said he hoped Iran’s leaders responded to outrage over an election that pro-reform activists say was stolen by Ahmadinejad, not with violence but by respecting the right to peaceful expression.

“Am I optimistic that that will happen? You know – I take a wait-and-see approach. Either way, it’s important for the United States to engage in the tough diplomacy around those permanent security concerns that we have – nuclear weapons, funding of terrorism,” he said….

“It is not productive, given the history of US-Iranian relations to be seen as meddling – the US president, meddling in Iranian elections,” Mr Obama said….

Now read about Obama’s hypocritical, audacious and meddlesome behavior towards Israel below.  Frank Gaffney explains it very clearly in the video.  Obama is signalling a submissive effect to the Muslim world.  He has embraced the Muslim brotherhood.  Iran, and the threat it poses to Israel and the rest of the free world, is terribly important but Obama won’t speak out against members of his tribe.  Via JPost:

Obama’s administration’s criticism of
Prime Minister
Binyamin Netanyahu’s policies has crossed the line into interfering in Israeli politics, top Likud ministers and MKs said Tuesday.

Kadima officials responded to the allegations by disagreeing that the US was meddling but expressing concern that such a perception by the Israeli public would harm their party and end up strengthening the prime minister. They accused Netanyahu’s associates of portraying Obama as an enemy of Israel in order to unite the public behind him.

The charges of American interference began April 16 when Yediot Aharonot quoted Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel telling an unnamed Jewish leader:

“In the next four years there is going to be a permanent-status arrangement between Israel and the Palestinians on the basis of two states for two peoples, and it doesn’t matter to us at all who is prime minister [of Israel].”

Iranian Film Makers: Document Shows Moussavi Won

Posted by smoothstone

Via IsraelNN.com:

Two Iranian film makers met with members of the Europen Union Parliament on Tuesday and displayed a letter that they said proves the recent elections in Iran were rigged. The letter, allegedly written by the Iranian electoral commission, shows that reformist candidate Mir-Hossein Moussavi won over 19 million votes and was the rightful winner.

After Moussavi was Mehdi Karroubi with 13.3 million votes, followed by incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with just 5.5 million, according to the document. The document’s authenticity has not been proven.

The film makers, Marjane Satrapi and Mohsen Makhmalbaf, called on the EU not to recognize the official results of Iran’s presidential elections. Iranian authorities say Ahmadinejad won the elections with 62 percent of the vote.

The letter was supposedly sent secretly from Iran’s Interior Ministry, which runs the nation’s elections, to Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The document includes the alleged real results of the election, and a promise to keep Ahmadinejad as president regardless of the popular vote.

Ahmadinejad: Iran Is a Nuclear Power Ready to Participate in Running the World

Posted by smoothstone

Ahmadinejad is out of his mind.  But liberal America will continue to embrace Islam, embrace its jihad, its hatred of Christians and Jews, its imperialism, its deceit, its bigotry.  Liberal America will wear that kaffiyeh as a fashion statement.  They will ignore the fact that Islam, at its core, is lethally militaristic and institutionalizes homicide.  I know that liberal America can’t help themselves because the mental disease of liberalism thinks it is multiculturally quaint to act out one’s culture, no matter how detestable it is.

But don’t include me in on the scam.  Why liberal America is attracted to the same ideology of those of men in black ski masks, shooting their guns in the air or of those same masked men standing behind a terrified captive who they are about to behead is beyond me.  I will never endure the trumped-up concoction of superstitions, deceit and mythology which is Islam, merely because the world was cursed by having its main energy source located under the feet of savages.   But liberal America, you voted in Obama.  And like a cheap imitation of the real thing, you get what you paid for.  Via MEMRI:

Since U.S. President Barack Obama took office, two new elements have become evident in the rhetoric of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and of senior Iranian regime officials from his camp:

a) that Iran is not only a regional power but a superpower on the global level, and is a partner in shaping the world, and

b) that the Iranian nuclear issue is closed, and the world has come to terms, or must come to terms, with a nuclear Iran; Iran will no longer discuss the issue with the U.S. or the West.

The following are examples of statements in this regard.

Iran Is Ready To Participate Extensively In Running the World”; “The U.S. Is Coming To Terms with Iran Being Nuclear”

During an April 18, 2009 Iranian Army Day ceremony at the tomb of the founder of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Ahmadinejad said, “Thanks to the dedication of the armed forces, Iran is ready to participate extensively in running the world and in establishing security and justice in various parts of the world.” [1]

At a conference of families of shahids (martyrs) in Qazvin, northern Iran, Ahmadinejad said that “as a major power, Iran is playing a leading role in the global decision-making process.” He said that Iran is “the final victor in all topics on the agenda,” and that as long as the Iranian nation obeys Islam and Islamic religious law, it will accomplish its goals. [2]

During his April 2009 visit to China, Ahmadinejad’s vice president Parviz Davoudi reiterated Ahmadinejad’s statements, saying that in his estimation, “the U.S. is coming to terms with Iran being nuclear, since it already came to terms with Iran’s nuclearization process, and [Iran is] now worthy to discuss important global issues together with the 5+1.” [3]

Basij commander Hossein Taab said that following the fall of the Soviet Union, only two powers remain in the world – the U.S. and Iran – and both want to lead the world. He added, “The U.S. has military strength, but cannot pull the trigger.” [4]

At a press conference in late May 2009, Ahmadinejad announced that following Iran’s June 12 presidential election, talks with the U.S. would continue in the framework of the 5+1, but not on the nuclear issue, because this issue “had already been resolved.” He added: “We continue our activities within framework of [International Atomic Energy] Agency regulations. At any rate, negotiations will be merely over world management and sustainable peace and security for entire nations; the Iranian nation will not permit anyone to enter into talks with us [on subjects] outside the regulations of the [IAEA].” [5]
