Two “peaceful” mass murderers
Via FoxNews:
As Hosam Maher Husein Smadi prepared to remotely detonate what he believed was a powerful bomb underneath a Dallas skyscraper, his comrade-in-arms, who was actually an undercover FBI agent, offered him earplugs, authorities say.
Smadi declined. He said he wanted to hear the blast, according to investigators.
Smadi, a Jordanian who lives in Texas, is accused of trying to blow up the 60-story Fountain Place office tower.
The FBI on Thursday announced the arrests of Smadi and another man, Michael C. Finton, who was charged with trying to blow up a building in Illinois in a nearly identical but unrelated plot.

Islam, the religion of peace

Via FoxNews:
Najibullah Zazi, who worked as an airport shuttle driver and owned a coffee cart in New York, was charged this week with conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction against Americans on U.S. soil.
The federal government says he planned to detonate liquid bombs on subways and trains in New York.
Prosecutor Tim Neff told a federal judge in Denver Friday that Zazi, 24, wanted to unleash an attack this past Sept. 11.
Prosecutors said Zazi received explosives training from Al Qaeda in Pakistan and returned to the U.S. bent on building a bomb.
Over the summer, he and three associates went from one beauty-supply store to another in a Denver suburb buying chemicals to make explosives like those that killed dozens of people in transit bombings in London and Madrid, investigators said.
“The evidence suggests a chilling, disturbing sequence of events showing the defendant was intent on making a bomb and being in New York on 9/11, for purposes of perhaps using such items,” Neff contended.

Keep this in mind
As Dennis Prager writes and as Charles Krauthammer reminds us:
Americans engaged in five military campaigns on behalf of Muslims, each one resulting in the liberation of a Muslim people: Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.
“Bosnia and Kosovo, as well as the failed 1992-93 Somalia intervention to feed starving African Muslims — in which] 43 Americans were killed — were all humanitarian exercises. In none of them was there a significant U.S. strategic interest at stake. So, in fact, in these 20 years, my country, the United States of America has done more for suffering and oppressed Muslims than any other nation, Muslim or non-Muslim.
Mention the above facts to any of your friends and co-workers who feel that this country is “too hard” on Muslims. This country is much harder on Christians and Christianity than it is on Muslims. Then remind your friends and co-workers that it was Muslims who attacked the United States on 9-11, it was Muslims who attacked the USS Cole, it was Muslims who attacked two US Embassies in South Africa, it was Muslims who blew up Pan Am Flight 103, it was Muslims who bombed the WTC the first time in 1993, it was Muslims who threw Leon Klinghoffer overboard on the Achile Lauro … well, you get the idea.

Watch, listen and smell the stench of Islamism as it pours out of the mouth of one of its many spokespersons, Abdallah Fahd Abd Al-Aziz Al-Nafisi, as he describes in detail -- with delight -- of his desire for a fellow Muslim to kill 300,000 Americans with anthrax. Also notice the audience applauding in agreement. Hey, Barack Hussein Obama, are you listening? Via MEMRITV.org:
On Al-Jazeera TV, Kuwaiti Prof Suggests a Biological Attack on White House, Prays for Bombing of Nuclear Plant on Lake Michigan
Following are excerpts from a speech by Kuwaiti Professor Abdallah Al-Nafisi, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on February 2, 2009.
Abdallah Al-Nafisi: “Four pounds of anthrax -- in a suitcase this big -- carried by a fighter through tunnels from Mexico into the U.S., are guaranteed to kill 330,000 Americans within a single hour, if it is properly spread in population centers there.
“What a horrifying idea. 9/11 will be small change in comparison. Am I right? There is no need for airplanes, conspiracies, timings, and so on.
“One person, with the courage to carry four pounds of anthrax, will go to the White House lawn, and will spread this ‘confetti’ all over them, and then will do these cries of joy. It will turn into a real ‘celebration.’

The Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam
Radical Islam presents a worldwide threat to human rights. Our group does not debate theology and will never claim “Islam” is inherently radical, or that all Muslims are “radicals” or terrorists. However, it is a simple fact that Radical Islam is a threat to world peace. Presently there are Radical Muslims fighting in countries across the world, including, but not limited to: India, Thailand, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Israel, Iraq, Lebanon, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia and “Western” states such as the United States, Australia and Western Europe.
The Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam is not anti-Muslim. On the contrary! Radical Islam is a threat to Muslims even more than it is to non-Muslims. More Muslims have died due to Radical Islam than non-Muslims. The Taliban makes life a living hell for citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Women are honor killed and gays have been killed for the mere crime of being gay. It is with an eye towards protecting human rights around the world that this diverse group has formed.
Who are we and what are our goals?
1. We are a coalition of organizations and individuals representing a full cross-section of the American people. Americans of every race, color and creed are represented in this coalition of groups — all have been personally affected by the spread of Radical Islam. As such, individuals from continents across the world and religions from around the world have joined together to say “YES to human rights” and “NO to radical Islam.” The religions and ideologies represented include Christians of numerous denominations, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and Secular Humanists.
2. Our mission is to educate the American people to the threat of Radical Islam and Sharia Law, and to challenge those enablers and apologists who would diminish our vigilance in opposing this virulent threat to humanistic values and values of tolerance. With education comes mobilization to action, as noted in mission statement #3, below.
3. Our strategy is to leverage the strengths of our coalition participants: 1) to conduct physical events such as marches, demonstrations, and leafleting; 2) to utilize the Internet to spread our message; 3) to promote media appearances by those who support our cause; 4) to utilize print and video to educate the public and the media to the threats we face; 5) to lobby locally and in Washington DC with letter writing campaigns; 6) to picket media and other outlets which promote the anti-human rights agenda of Radical Islam; 7) to expand our outreach to include educational seminars at local community centers, churches, synagogues and schools.
4. Our group seeks to promote a human rights agenda. The specific enemies of human rights we are struggling against are, in addition to ignorance and apathy, those groups and individuals in the United States and elsewhere who are part of, or supporters of, Radical Islam. These groups include, amongst others, Al Queda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Deobandi Islamists, the Iranian regime, and other supporters known as Wahhabists (fundamentalist Muslims and Islamists). Additional groups and ideologies that fight against human rights are the “enablers” of Radical Islam.
These groups and ideologies include “political correctness,” the mainstream media (which often blame terror attacks on ‘South Asians’ or ‘militants’, rather than simply naming the enemy, and which seeks to employ tactics of moral equivalence), university faculties (which often employ known members of terror groups, such as Sami Al-Arian, and Rashid Khalidi, who was a PLO spokesperson, and similarly teach “post-modern” moral equivalence), student groups such as the International Solidarity Movement (which acts as “human shields” and aids and abets Radical Islam); and “human rights” groups, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the United Nations (which, through ignorance, misunderstanding, paternalism, willful blindness or guilt, fail to appreciate Radical Islam’s threat to decency, tolerance and peace). These “human rights” groups have taken over the English language, claiming they believe in ‘peace’, when in fact they are often aiding and abeting Radical Islam.
5. This group will be tarred and feathered in the press as being ‘Islamophobic’, even as we seek to promote the human rights of Muslims. Our group will always show a tolerant and moderate message of human rights; however, it is a simple fact that those who seek to promote the truth about Radical Islam face the claim of being “Islamophobic.” In order to avoid pitfalls others have fallen into, this group will never debate theology. The group’s goal is not to present Islam as inherently one way or another, but rather to showcase the human rights atrocities going on across the world, in order to spur action. If necessary, a legal defense fund will be set up to ensure that our human rights message is seen and heard around the world.

Hamas has smuggled a new arsenal into Gaza that would upset the balance of power, Israel believes.
Muslims currently have 160 tunnels beneath the Sinai border that they are using to smuggle longer range rockets, anti-tank missiles and perhaps even anti-aircraft missiles, security sources say. Some of the tunnels are large enough to let small all-terrain vehicles pass.
With the help of Hizbullah, Hamas has drawn up a new strategy of engagement with the IDF based on anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles.
In addition, Iranian technology has been used to increase the range of Kassam rockets Hamas is producing in Gaza to more than 20 km.
Israeli officials believe Egypt has not managed to reduce the flow of arms into Gaza.

Summary of Recent Debate at U.N. Human Rights Council
on Durban Review Conference and Racism
UNHRC 10 Session, March 2009
Libya: “We are proud of chairing the preparatory working group. The scourge of racism and xenophobia had not been eliminated yet. Some were turning a blind eye to the worst kind of crimes that affected innocent women and children… People of the world are eagerly awaiting the results of the Durban Review Conference. We call on all countries to show a sense of responsibility on constructively drafting an outcome document…”
Iran: “We welcome the ongoing process of the Durban Review Conference… The world today witnesses racism, defamation of religions, religious intolerance, racial profiling and the intellectual legitimisation of racism. This form of racism was disseminated in large proportion in the media, including the Internet. The failures in the struggle against racism, inter alia, the contemporary forms of racism had led to persisting manifestations of racism and intolerance including racial and religious profiling and the rise in Islamophobic incidents in the world. Iran had contributed $40,000 to the Durban Review Conference for facilitating the realization of a better participative conference by all stakeholders.”
Kuwait: “Kuwait will allocate $100,000, and agrees that efforts needed to be stepped up in order to achieve the objectives and to ensure the success of the final document.”
Cuba for Non-Aligned Movement: “The effective implementation of the Durban agreements was not only essential in the fight against racism; it was also a debt owed to millions of victims of these abominable practices through history.”
China: “The Durban Review Conference provided the international community with an opportunity for the future, to promote human rights, eliminate differences, promote solidarity, encourage effective participation, and take effective measures against racism.”
Syria: “The Durban Declaration was a landmark in the struggle against racism.. That was why Syria was convinced of the need for everyone to pull together for the follow-up. Foreign occupation seriously increased the risk of racism, said the report of the High Commissioner. As to racial profiling in the media, Syria supported the legitimate position of the Arab countries…”
Pakistan on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference: “The Organization of the Islamic Conference attaches the highest importance to the subject of racism… The outcome of the Durban Review Conference must provide a comprehensive protection mechanism to all victims, including those who had suffered the war on terror in terms of racio-religious profiling and its concomitant incitement to racial or religious discrimination, hatred and violence. The Organization of the Islamic Conference welcomed the successful holding of the second session of the Ad Hoc Committee on Complementary Standards.” [Ed. note: This Algerian-chaired U.N. committee is seeking to rewrite international human rights law by definining any criticism of Islamic dogma as a human rights violation, and is endorsed by Art. 30 of the current Durban II draft; see UN Watch speech below.]
UN WATCH RESPONDS
The Myths of Durban II
Testimony by Hillel Neuer
Thank you, Mr. President.
Racism is evil. How can we truly fight it?
For starters, by clearing up three myths about next month’s conference.
Myth Number One: that the new draft removes all pernicious provisions.
The truth is that many were removed—thanks only to the credible threat of an E.U. walk-out—but red lines continue to be breached:
- Articles 10, 30 and 132 encourage the Islamic states’ campaign to ban any criticism of religion.
- Articles 60 to 62 demonize the West, addressing only its sins of slavery, yet saying nothing of the massive Arab trade in African slaves, thereby politicizing that which should never be politicized.
- Article 1 breaches President Obama’s red line by reaffirming what his government called the quote, “flawed 2001 Durban Declaration”, a text that stigmatized Israel with false accusations.
Myth Number Two: that going to the conference means dialogue.
In truth, we’ve been negotiating non-stop since August 2007. Going to the conference means endorsing a particular text, and risks legitimizing the greatest perpetrators of racism.
Ironically, many who now claim to support dialogue, are Mideast states belonging to the Arab Boycott Office in Damascus, or radical left campaigners who call for equally bigoted boycotts in the West.
Myth Number Three: that Durban 2 will help millions of victims.
But can anyone name a single victim of racism who was helped by the 2001 conference and countless follow-up committees?
Did Durban help a single victim of Sudan’s racist campaign of mass killing, rape and displacement against millions in Darfur?
Did it help the women of Saudi Arabia subjected to systematic discrimination?
Did it help gays executed by Iran, even as President Ahmadinejad says there are no gays in Iran?
Did it help the 2 million black African migrants in Libya, who, as we read in last week’s International Herald Tribune, say they are treated like slaves and animals?
To truly fight racism, we need to hold perpetrators to account. Tragically, Durban 2 does the opposite.
Thank you, Mr. President.

The most murderous Palestinian terror attack in Israel’s history was carried out on March 11, 1978 when a bus was hijacked and 37 civilians were killed.
The Palestinian Authority celebrated this attack yesterday on the anniversary of the hijacking, with an hour long TV special about the terror attack. The program included file film of PLO training camps, and interviews with a number of terrorists describing the planning and implementation of the attack.
The program opened with the narrator glorifying the attack as:
“… one of the most important and most prominent special actions, executed by the Palestinian revolution by sea, on the coast between Haifa and Tel Aviv. This action, which was carried out by a group of heroes and led by the heroic fighter Dalal Mughrabi, had a great impact on continuing events of the Arab-Israeli conflict.” [PATV (Fatah) March 11 2009]

Written by a Muslim, via WSJ:
Many Muslims seem to believe that it is acceptable to teach hatred and violence in the name of their religion – while at the same time expecting the world to respect Islam as a religion of peace, love and harmony.
Scholars in the most prestigious Islamic institutes and universities continue to teach things like Jews are “pigs and monkeys,” that women and men must be stoned to death for adultery, or that Muslims must fight the world to spread their religion.
The stoning of women exists in both the Old Testament and in Islamic tradition. The difference, though, is that leading Jewish scholars agreed to discontinue these practices centuries ago, while Muslim scholars have yet to do so. Hence we do not see the stoning of women practiced or promoted in Israel, the “Jewish” state, but we see it practiced and promoted in Iran and Saudi Arabia, the “Islamic” states.
So, Islamic scholars and clerics, it is up to you to produce a Sharia book that will be accepted in the Islamic world and that teaches that Jews are not pigs and monkeys, that declaring war to spread Islam is unacceptable, and that killing apostates is a crime. Such a book would prove that Islam is a religion of peace.
The writer, Tawfik Hamid, a former member of an Egyptian Islamist terrorist group, is an Islamic reformer and senior fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.
